Service delivery | Joburg property rates hiked by 5.3%

JOHANNESBURG - City of Joburg customers are being abused.

That's the view of the Johannesburg Property Owners and Managers Association.

It says that on social media, #JoburgUpdates paints a picture of a failing municipality.

The hashtag is about services not delivered, broken infrastructure and power cuts.

Angela Rivers from the Johannesburg Property Owners and Managers Association said if you look at the city's financial report for 2022-23, the revenue was R61-billion.

"Yet if you look around the city, there is very little, you cannot see where that money is going."
