JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Bheki Cele, presented his department's budget vote in Parliament on Wednesday.
He announced that the South African Police Service has been allocated over R1.8 billion.
This will go towards visible policing, making up more than 51% of the total vote for the 2023/24 fiscal year.
The funds will be utilised for acquiring transportation assets, including vehicles, trucks, and buses.
Moreover, he revealed that over R1-billion has been set aside for the construction and modernisation of police stations.
An additional R30-million has been set aside to ensure that more mobile Community Service Centres are available to communities.
