Residents demand swift probe into Boksburg gas leak

JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Angelo Informal settlement have described the horror of seeing bodies strewn across the area moments after a gas leak on Wednesday.

Seventeen people died and seven remain in hospital after a gas leak at one of the shacks in the area.

It's believed they inhaled toxic fumes released by gas cylinders containing nitrogen oxide used by illegal miners.

Some families lost more than one family member.

Investigations into the deadly leak also continue.

No arrested have been made.
