CAPE TOWN - Parliament will vote on whether Kholeka Gcaleka will take over as the country's new Public Protector.
A majority of 60 percent is required for Parliament to approve the appointment.

Gcaleka has been acting in the position since last year.
This follows the ousting of Busisiwe Mkhwebane in a majority impeachment vote by Parliament.
The process to appoint a new Public Protector had to be postponed several times before due to venue challenges.
