JOHANNESBURG - A Westbury mother has described the pain of losing her young child in a shooting in the area over the weekend.
Jaan Fourie (11) was gunned down near her home on Saturday.
The grade 6 pupil was at a party when she and her friends were shot at.
The killing has sent shockwaves throughout the community which is calling for an end to the killings.
Residents held a candlelight memorial calling for an end to the onslaught.
They accuse police of failing them.
Fourie was buried on Sunday and no arrests have yet been made.
Her mother, who also fears for her life, recalled her final moments.
