JOHANNESBURG - There's a culture of lack of accountability in most government departments, which results in wasteful expenditure.
That's according to the office of the Auditor-General.
AGSA Head of Audit, Bongi Ngoma, says in the 5 years from 2018 to 2023, 36 government departments incurred wasteful expenditure of over 1.4-billion Rand.
Ngoma was speaking before the Standing Committee on Appropriations on Tuesday.
