Education in Crisis | Thousands of teaching jobs at risk

JOHANNESBURG - Four provincial departments will battle to cover their budgets in the 2025/2026 financial year. 

Basic Education Minister, Siviwe Gwarube, briefed the media on budget cuts in her department on Wednesday.

The cuts could potentially leave thousands of teachers without jobs.

Several provinces don't have the money to pay for additional teachers because National Government did not increase funding for provincial departments.
