JOHANNESBURG - The Easter road death toll has risen to 225.
That's compared to 162 deaths on the road last year.
Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga released the numbers on Friday morning.
She said 185 fatal crashes were recorded.
"Our law enforcement officers maintained visibility throughout the period and dealt with the intransigent drivers who could not resist the temptation to break the rules of the road and share the space responsibly," Chikunga said.
