JOHANNESBURG -  The Democratic Alliance's new advertisement has divided opinion about whether it's disrespectful to the South African flag.

In the commercial, the flag can be seen burning with a warning about an EFF and Zuma coalition.

Many social media users have decried the ad saying it's offensive.

Chair in social justice at Stellenbosch University Thuli Madonsela was one the first people to reply, saying it's disrespectful. But DA MP Leon Schreiber says Madonsela's state of capture report, is proof the party's concerns are not unfounded
