JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg's newly-elected Mayor Thapelo Amad has announced 8 members of his Mayoral Committee.
The selections are from different parties within the new governing alliance.
Four of the new MMCs are from the ANC, in the portfolios of Finance, Group Corporate and Shared Services, Environment and Infrastructure and Economic Development.
Public Safety, Health and Social Development have been handed to councillors from the Economic Freedom Fighters, while the Patriotic Alliance takes over Human Settlements and Transport.
Amad intends to appoint two more members to the committee after they are sworn in as city councillors.
