THANTSEKA VILLAGE - South Africans are under siege, living in a lawless society where not enough criminals face the consequences of their actions.
That's what Police Minister Bheki Cele told the communities around Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape.
Cele was visiting the family in Thantseka village where seven people were gunned down last week.
Traditional leaders complained that there's usually just one police van on patrol in a village where criminal organisations terrorise the community almost daily.

Cele has promised traditional leaders and the community here that he will soon convene an Imbizo to discuss the scourge of crime.
