BHISHO, EASTERN CAPE - The trial of Eastern Cape Health Department Spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo has been postponed to July in the East London Commercial Crimes Court.
He faces fraud and forgery charges for allegedly faking his matric certificate when he worked in public office in 2002.
The Special Investigating Unit is also probing allegations linked to politicians who unlawfully gained qualifications at the University of Fort Hare, indicating a potentially systemic problem in the province.

Sizwe Kupelo's legal team is adamant they weren't given enough time to prepare for the trial.
The National Prosecuting Authority says failure to issue the defence with a copy of the statement from Siyanda Manana, the Eastern Cape Communications Director, and the state’s first witness in the trial, was the result of miscommunication.
