CAPE TOWN - While children across the country celebrate the end of the school year, children in the Cape Flats in Cape Town are calling for safer play areas this festive season.
Between July and September, 96 minors were slain in the Western Cape, according to provincial safety officials, with gang shootouts accounting for the majority of the killings.

The Cape Flats Safety Forum, in collaboration with Gun Free South Africa and the Missing Persons Unit, is urging the presidency to enact stricter gun accessibility regulations.
