Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi said, "In Johannesburg, we are running a municipality appropriately. One of our members of government of local unity there, asked our councillor in ward seven to resign."

"Just imagine, we are in coalition with you, you go and say a member, someone you are running government with, must resign."

"And in the ultimate end say that we'll support a motion to remove the mayor that is part of the coalition agreement," he said.

"And we urgently met with the leaders in the region and said "Comrades, this is completely unacceptable. Let's find a way of managing it."

"We had to bring national leadership and everyone to descend in Johannesburg. Comrades, anyone who will mislead you to say the current mayor in Johannesburg is the mayor of the ANC it's not true what you have done in JHB anything that was opposing the DA on the ballot paper, we voted against the DA.

So the current mayor is not a mayor of the ANC, he's the mayor that defeated the DA."

"They are bringing another motion [of no confidence] now, we are asking our comrades in Johannesburg: allow that Auction SA, that wants to auction our country [and] auction our province to table that motion."

"Where we stand now, in Johannesburg, we are unstoppable. Any motion against us; we will crush that motion," Lesufi said.
