Amnesty International criticises Zim activists' convictions

HARARE - Amnesty International is calling on the Zimbabwe government to stop sending opposition leaders to jail.

Citizens Coalition for Change MP Job Sikhala was sentenced last week to six months for obstruction of justice.

Another opposition politician, Jacob Ngarivhume, has been jailed for four years for inciting public violence.

Amnesty International says the targeting of opposing voices clearly shows the Zanu-PF government is giving instructions to magistrates and judges.
