Afriforum, Solidarity meet with trump administration

JOHANNESBURG - A delegation from Afrikaner interest groups Solidarity and Afriforum met with senior representatives of the Trump administration at the White House.

Their mission: to advocate for increased pressure on ANC leaders for policy changes.

They say their message to the US government was not to punish ordinary South Africans for differences the USA has with the South African government.

The group pleaded with US officials not to drop South Africa from the Agoa trade agreement, saying over half a million jobs and the well-being of millions more depends on it.

They raised alarms about recent legislation pushed through by the ANC, including the new Expropriation Act and the Basic Education Laws Amendment act, which they argue threaten minority rights.

The memorandum they delivered outlines these concerns and calls for a collaborative approach to address the challenges facing South Africa.
