2024 elections declared free and fair

JOHANNESBURG - The IEC has declared the national and provincial elections free and fair despite glitches, saying irregularities were immaterial.

Despite many disputes over election process discrepancies and calls to delay the announcement, the IEC released the final tally.

The ruling ANC has 159 places in the 400-seat National Assembly followed by the DA with 87, the MK Party with 58 and the EFF with 39 places, followed by several minority parties.

The IEC acknowledged challenges that marred the 2024 elections.

It says there were many attempts to undermine the credibility and integrity of the commission.
