Sisters call for unity after King Misuzulu's harsh words

JOHANNESBURG - AmaZulu King MisuZulu KaZwelithini’s three sisters have called for unity.

This is after the King directed strong words against one of his sisters, Princess Nomkhosi.

In a leaked audio recording, the King could be heard directing derogatory language at his sister.

The three princesses confirmed there was a rift between them and the King but called for unity.

In a statement read by Princess Bukhosibemvelo, she says if peace isn't maintained, there will be severe consequences not only for the family but for the Zulu nation as well.

“The royal family must remember that their actions do not go unseen, " the princess said.

"Every word spoken, every act of discord, weakens the monarchy and brings shame to a name that should command respect. If the house crumbles from within, how can it expect loyalty from its people? Now is the time to restore order. Leadership must be guided by wisdom, not reckless emotion.

“The kingdom must stand as a pillar of strength, not a battlefield of egos. Those who forget this truth will not be remembered as leaders but as the ones who let the kingdom fall.”

She further stated that the clip in question illustrates that there are bigger issues among the siblings that can't be ignored.

"The manner in which we speak, tone and language has to be exemplary to the nation,” Princess Bukhosibemvelo said.

“We wish to state that we would never hesitate to protect our sister and any woman from harassment by any man, irrespective of his standing in the community.”

The King’s office has said they would not comment further on the issue.
