Police Minister Mchunu outlines plans to fight crime

JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu will outline his plans to tackle crime in the country.

He will be joined by his two deputies Cassel Mathale and Polly Boshielo in Pretoria.

The minister has spent the past few weeks getting briefed by the SAPS top brass.

He faces the daunting task of restoring public faith in the police.

Officers have been accused of not fighting and even being involved in crime.

Mchunu assumes office amid a surge in kidnappings and gang violence.
