JOHANNESBURG -Eskom is assuring South Africans that power cuts are unlikely until the end of March.
This while some energy experts predict rolling blackouts may return this year.
The utility says it expects more generating capacity to come online by Monday.
The energy availability factor for the past year was 62.7 percent.
Eskom is aiming for 70 percent availability this year.
Unplanned capacity losses are down eight percent compared with the same period last year.
Power cuts remain suspended for 282 consecutive days.
The utility says there's been year-to-date diesel savings of R16.52-billion.
