Dorchester Heights residents raise concerns over growing community

EAST LONDON - A once wildlife-friendly piece of land has, over time, been turned into an informal settlement.

These are the concerns of Dorchester Heights residents in East London.

They’re calling on authorities to remove the more than 100 informal structures near their homes.

The Buffalo City Municipality says it has identified an alternative location where residents of Nokuzola Informal Settlement will be moved.

It says regular raids and operations have been conducted to ensure the informal settlement doesn’t keep growing.
