JOHANNESBURG - South African municipal finance management is on a backward trajectory.
Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke says the number of clean audits has declined by four to just 34.
Maluleke says 30 of them managed to get back-to-back clean bills of health.
Cape Town is the only metro in the country to receive a clean audit.
She says the majority of metros are unable to do their core job of providing reliable services.
