JOHANNESBURG - The arts and creative sector Johannesburg are gathered in Sandton to discuss issues that are key to growing the industry and addressing challenges at the the two-day Creative Cynergy Symposium.
WATCH: SA music industry | Is Creative Arts a sustainable employment?
Papama Mnqandi, a festival director, artist, and architectural professional says one of the main issues the country must deal with, is the misalignment in funds allocation within the sector.
He says the majority of funding is given to the film industry, neglecting the fine arts, crafters, photographers and theatre productions.
He says events such as the Symposium and the Creatives parliament are making bold moves to bring about change.
Mnqandi discussed this with eNCA.
