Set against the vibrant backdrop of modern-day South Africa, Proof of Payment tells the story of Lefa, a charismatic but unscrupulous young man with a knack for deception.
Played by the talented Thabo Malema, Lefa and his loyal friend, Breakfast, played by Mandla Gaduka, have mastered the art of conning unsuspecting victims out of their valuables using forged proof of payment documents.
Their elaborate schemes and quick-witted tactics have made them notorious in their world.
However, Lefa’s carefully constructed life takes an unexpected turn when he falls head over heels for the alluring Lebo, portrayed by the stunning Sibonginkosi Tenza.
Unbeknownst to him, Lebo harbours a dark secret and is determined to seek revenge. As the plot thickens, it becomes clear that Lebo is an even more skilled con artist than Lefa, setting the stage for a thrilling cat-and-mouse game.
Other notable cast members include Seputla Sebogodi as Uncle Joe and Dawn Thandeka King as Thandi.
