JOHANNESBURG - Large parts of the country may soon find themselves reaching Day Zero.

This is not because of a lack of water, but due to financial mismanagement.

Magalies Water, which provides water to three provinces, could go bankrupt by May next year.

Vaal Central Water is forecast to follow in June.
