Discussion | Young women at higher risk of developing breast cancer

JOHANNESBURG - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Research shows that breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among South African women.

It is estimated that approximately 19.4 million women in the country are at risk of developing breast cancer.

The Breast Imaging Society of South Africa warns that young women are more likely to develop breast cancer.

Diagnostic radiologist Dr Peter Schoub stresses the importance of early detection.
