SADTU accepts 7.5% wage offer

JOHANNESBURG - Teachers Union SADTU has become the latest union to accept government’s final wage offer of 7.5%.

The Public Servants Association announced that it had agreed to the above inflation salary hike on Thursday.

The offer, which was also accepted by the majority of parties at the Bargaining Council will see public servants between salary levels 1 to 12 and those appointed in terms of the occupational-specific dispensation get the increase.

But, the cash gratuity of R1,000 ends on Saturday and will become part of the pensionable increase.

The PSA says the deal is binding on all unions that represent public servants.
