JOHANNESBURG - Inflation has increased to 5.4 percent in September, up from 4.8 percent in August.
Food, housing and fuel costs drove the higher inflation.

The Reserve Bank's inflation target band is between 3 and 6 percent, with the midpoint at 4.5 being the goal.
