Cape Town factory given greenlight to manufacture 100 inch TVs

CAPE TOWN -The Hisense factory in Atlantis in Cape Town will now produce the first South African-manufactured 100-inch ULED television.

The company made the announcement during a visit to the factory by Trade, Industry and Competition, Minister Ebrahim Patel earlier.

The R350 million manufacturing factory in Atlantis was launched in June 2013.

Its main focus on production is on high-end consumer electronics and home appliances for South Africa and the rest of Africa.

This latest announcement will add to the over R832 million that the company has already invested in South Africa.

The latest announcement is set to create jobs and develop technical and electrical skills.
