JOHANNESBURG - Buying pre-cut fruits and vegetables is very convenient, but you could soon be paying more for it.
15 percent VAT could be added to prepared vegetables and fruits.
This is according to a note in the budget overview released last week.
Cut and prepared vegetables and fruits may be removed from the no-VAT list.
However, this will not be an immediate amendment as it will still go through the legislative process before price increases are evident on the shelves.
