JOHANNESBURG - Save South Africa is warning the Finance Minister against hiking VAT or cutting SRD grants. 

The organisation says Enoch Godongwana would be failing the poor if he does so. 

That's as some are calling for his resignation.

Parties who aren’t part of the GNU say Wednesday's budget speech needs to inspire confidence. 

The speech, meant to be delivered three weeks ago, was postponed over a proposed VAT increase hike. 

The hike left some GNU parties and the opposition unhappy, forcing government back to the drawing board.
