JOHANNESBURG - There will be very little rest for emergency services workers over the festive season.

They have already had to respond to 100 stabbings in Gauteng.

The Gauteng Emergency Services says they have seen an influx in assault cases.

Emergency medical personnel have not had it easy with attacks directed at them when they had to respond to emergencies.

Gauteng EMS Communications Deputy Director, JP Von Benecke explains.
