DURBAN - TB is one of the leading causes of death in South Africa.
According to the World Health Organization, 56,000 people die from TB annually.
Alarmingly, more than half of these deaths are people living with HIV.
And this situation could get worse.
US-government-funded HIV and TB research grants have been cancelled with immediate effect.
Researchers say this will impact tertiary learning and research institutions.
eNCA reporter Nkosokhona Malinga-Mnisi is following developments.
