JOHANNESBURG - Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will deliver his much-anticipated budget speech on Wednesday afternoon.
It comes amid high unemployment rates, rising living costs and a tough economic environment.
eNCA's Pule Letshwiti-Jones and Hloni Mtimkulu are on the ground to find out what people expect.
Fingers crossed that the Minister loosens the (Tax) NOOSE🤞. Ordinary South Africans are dying a slow death with the ever increasing Cost of Living😭

The big critiacals are infrastructure, water and sewerage, the policing and audits, then power infringement subsidized renewable, then hospitals audits and upgrades, then Transnet audits and upgrades, then the army internal- boarder control external tech upgrades. Etc. From there

Probably some relief because election year.

But a temporary relief only. After elections cadres need to "eat a little".
I sincerely hope there is relief in general. However the big big issue is the funding of NHI. Taxpayers don't have the funds and there's the election on 29 May 2024.

SA should also look at the prescribed funds - the SA pension funds should no longer be allowed to be invested abroad/ thst is money laundering
