What role does Higher Education play in efforts to develop artisans?

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's National Development Plan aims to address socio-economic challenges and foster inclusive growth in the country.

One of its key objectives is to produce 30,000 artisans a year by 2030 to enhance the country’s economic competitiveness.

Higher Education Minister, Blade Nzimande, officially launched the Sekhukhune Skills Development Centre in Limpopo on Friday.

It will train artisans in support of government's NDP objectives.
