CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Education Department is urging the public not to jump to conclusions after 28 pupils were sent to medical facilities with stomach cramps last week.
The pupils had reportedly consumed snacks purchased from local vendors. The department says health inspectors collected samples of the snacks consumed at Mzamomtsha Primary School in Driftsands, and at Sikelela Primary School in Lansdowne.

All of the children who got medical attention have since been discharged. However, some parents are pleading with the national government to intervene and undertake inspections of foreign-owned businesses.
