JOHANNESBURG - The steel and engineering sector has been bleeding jobs for more than a decade. But the sector is crucial for our economy because it is export intensive.
And it feeds other sectors, including agriculture, mining, electricity, water logistics and construction.

Now, the National Union of Mineworkers is warning that 10-thousand jobs may be lost soon.
This due to the raft of retrenchments at mines.
