DURBAN - Broken healthcare facilities are the norm for many South Africans.
One such run down facility is Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, which is still not fully operational three years after a fire destroyed sections of it.
This has meant an influx of patients to other already-stretched hospitals, and even longer waits for treatment.
Dr Cedric Sihlangu, the general secretary of the SA Medical Association Trade Union spoke to eNCA.
