CAPE TOWN - Non-profit organisation, Save Our Schools, is working to improve sanitation in informal settlements around the country.
The PitStop programme, which will begin in Germiston, Gauteng, aims to eradicate pit latrines and replace them with wash hub toilets that recycle waste into fertiliser and charcoal.

The first wash hub has been set up in Kraaifontein, Western Cape, and will be moved to the Primrose informal settlement in Gauteng over the weekend.
