KAZAN, RUSSIA - The 16th annual BRICS summit kicked off in Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday and is set to run until Thursday.
The theme this year is Strengthening Multi-Lateralism for Just Global Development and Security. Leaders are expected to discuss a further expansion of the bloc to include partner countries.

It's expected the summit will adopt the Kazan Declaration that will shape the path of the bloc.
