JOHANNESBURG - NGOs, activists and the homeless are opposed to a court decision on evictions.

The Western Cape High Court has issued a final order for the eviction of homeless people from road reserves and bridges in the city centre.

The order includes a standing interdict against further unlawful occupation of other city-owned public spaces. Homeless people say they do not want to go to shelters as it is not a long-term solution.
