In third place was ex-president Jacob Zuma's MK on 12.6 percent, a surprise score for a party founded just months ago as a vehicle for the former ANC chief

 

DURBAN - The uMkhonto WeSizwe Party has taken the lion’s share of the over 98% of votes counted in KwaZulu-Natal. 

The party has garnered over 1.5m votes in the province, and is leading with 44%. 

Trailing behind is the IFP with 18%, followed by the ANC with 17%.
