But, hundreds of thousands of them die every year.
UNAIDS says around 9 million do not have access to life-saving treatment.
And, the infection rate is also not slowing, with 1.3 million new infections globally.
UNAIDS latest World Aids Day report shows human rights breaches are weakening national HIV responses.
It's worried about the slow progress of the 2030 goal of eliminating AIDS as a public health hazard.
