JOHANNESBURG - The CSIR has launched a Transport Safety Laboratory.
It's hoped this will help reduce the high number of road deaths.
It will look at issues such as road infrastructure, traffic engineering and vehicle safety.
Technology and Innovation Minister Blade Nzimande says reducing road deaths is a top priority and costs the country over R200-billion a year.
