Tennis | Montjane targets best year of career

JOHANNESBURG - Kgothatso Montjane's 2024 tennis season has started on a strong note.

The South African wheelchair superstar reached the Australian Open semi-finals in the singles and the final in the doubles.

Montjane was first beaten by her doubles partner Yui Kamiji, with the pair then losing to top seeds Diede de Groot and Jiske Griffioen in the doubles final.

The Seshego native is hoping to improve on her 2023 performance, which saw her win the French and US Open doubles titles.

The two-time Grand Slam champion talks about the year ahead.
