JOHANNESBURG - Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has achieved a historic milestone.
She has become the first democratic speaker to take special leave from the National Assembly.
It was taken with reports of a looming arrest on corruption charges.
Now, she's heading to the High Court in Pretoria to try to block that arrest.
She's accused of soliciting bribes worth millions during her tenure as Defence Minister.
The DA has also filed a motion of no confidence against her as opposition parties call for her resignation.
We discuss this with constitutional law expert, Pierre de Vos.
