CAPE TOWN - South Africa is the only country in the world that can accurately pinpoint the date of origin of its wine industry.

On the 2nd of February 1659, a diary entry announced,“ Today, praise be to God, wine was made for the first time from Cape grapes.”

This occasion has become a memorable day for wine makers and those who appreciate wine. And this year won't be different.

eNCA's Abigail Visagie spoke to Rico Basson, CEO of SA Wine, Maryna Calow, Communications Manager for Wines of South Africa, and Jean Naudé, CEO of Groot Constantia, for more insight.
