CAPE TOWN - As we have seen with recent rains in KwaZulu-Natal and fires in Cape Town, severe weather does put infrastructure at risk.
Despite the inclement weather leaving death and destruction in its wake, it also destroys crucial economic infrastructure.
The University of Cape Town has released a research paper on the matter which reveals that R20-billion worth of the City's transport system is at risk.
Professor Marianne Vanderschuren, from the University of Cape Town spoke with eNCA.
