RTIA going ahead with rollout of the AARTO Act

JOHANNESBURG - The Road Traffic infringement agency is going ahead with the rollout of the AARTO Act. 

The demerit points system is set to be implemented this time next year. 

The system was meant to start in September this year but was pulled back because the government was running  behind in its rollout process. 

According to OUTA, all 245 municipalities and metros have to be on board before Aarto can be fully implemented. 

But Cape Town has been on the fence regarding the implementation of AARTO.
