CAPE TOWN - Many say the installation of rooftop solar panels has reduced demand on Eskom.
This may be part of the reason for the prolonged suspension of scheduled blackouts.
Cape Town is no slouch in this area with solar panel installations reaching record levels.
Now only does it save you from outages, but you can make some money back from the city.
But, this is a rich man's game with solar installation not accessible to most South Africans.
